Max pretty much likes any music I play in the car. And when I say pretty much, I mean that he’s getting a little opinionated. He’ll holler if he doesn’t like a song that comes on, and I’ll usually oblige and skip to the next song. Sometimes he’ll want me to play the same song over an over again. And his taste really varies. One time we listened to Green Day’s “Good Riddance” for an entire 40-minute drive. Another time it was Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain.”
The one song, however, that he apparently hates is “Roll To Me” by Del Amitri. It literally brings him to tears. Not just recently either — it’s been almost two years! And Cris and I don’t understand… it fits all of his criteria: it has a good beat, lots of guitar, cool drum line. But with the first note, tears spring to his eyes and he waves bye-bye at the stereo. And it’s not just in the car; we’ve tested it in the house with the same result.
Cracks us up!
